Amazing Bernice Baez. I met Bernice in 2006 when I was transferred to Texas with the company I was working for. She was recommended to me by a friend. She asked what we were looking for house wise and location preferences. I wish we could give him more stars. When you’re looking for an agent the first thing you do is ask a friend or wait for 30 of them to bombard you with their agents because we all think "ours is the best". We didn’t do that. We went on youtube and looked up Dallas agents beause we figured the ones that are smart enough to list online with clean videos are going to work the hardest and smartest for us and cast the largest net in our favor. We were right.
We knew the minute we met him almost 2 years ago that he was going to be OUR agent. We were a young couple with a growing family and struggling in the small (first) home that we bought and as business owners everything was just so complicated with the financing because of how relatively young our businesses were, but he still treated us like we were looking for an immediate purchase. He did this knowing that we likely wont be able to get into a house right away. He took us to new and old developments, all over the metroplex in all different ranges with absolute patience.
We took a break but knew we’d call him again when the time was right and he never made it weird or awkward, he got it.
Flash forward 2 years later, when we called him in November of 2024 saying "hey we might have found our dream home" through of all places a facebook group in a very tight knit community we had some reservations. This seemed like a friendly deal and the sellers agent was happy to represent both of us given that this house wasn’t ever listed on the market. We met with that agent one time and before we could walk her out the door we were dialing Chad. It was, without a doubt, the smartest decision we made in this entire process. He met with us the next day and immediately got the deal sorted out in a way that actually made sense with the other agent, and got to work. I could go into all the tiny details of all the things he did for us to get the new house positioned in our favor but there’s just too many.
In order to get into this house we weren’t able to have contingent offer so he helped us navigate a lot of different financial paths with our lender and got us over the threshold and he just made it seem so effortless. Even when we had a few moments of "omg is this going to be okay?" he calmed us down, texted us daily to keep us updated, and made us feel confident that everything was going just as it should.
When it came to sell the house, we took all of his advice and followed it to a T. He knows exactly how to stage a house and get it ready for the market. Every time he passed the house, he’d stop in to check on it, make sure all the lights were working, turn our sprinklers off if a storm was coming through. I still can’t believe we got this lucky with him.
We listed and sold over asking in with 6 solid offers in less than 24 hours on the market. I’m so proud of the work we did with him.
Also….we had these phantom pallets that just kept showing up at our original house just before we’d close (I was running a business out of there for a while), every time we’d move one another would show up. On the day of our close, he showed up with a bandaid on his finger because he was at our house chopping down the pallet and throwing it out on our behalf like 30 mintues before we were supposed to hand over our keys.

We had been told by two other realtors that the market was a bit soft in our neighborhood, and we should lower our expectations. (A house directly across the street was much more up to date, and had been on and off the market for over a year.) Kristine is THE BEST!!! My mom and I’s experience working with her was wonderful. From the day we met her she was very professional. When my mom and I were ready to begin the moving process this past summer, we knew Kristine was the realtor for us. We met with her at the end of July for a consultation about the current home we were living in and the steps to putting it on the market. She pulled comps and we looked at other houses in the area and she explained why certain houses were not selling. She then looked around our home and wrote a list of things that needed to be repaired or touched up because after living in a home for 9 years there will be stuff needing some extra attention. Within the next week her and her brother Michael( who is a handyman and the quality of his work is amazing!) were over at our home preparing for our house to be put up for sale. Kristine even went out of her way to buy us plants for the backyard, put a beautiful outdoor rug of her’s on the patio, and made sure everything looked perfect on the outside. On the inside of our home she began the process of staging and arranged each room to where it was pleasing to the eye. The pictures taken of the house by her professional photographer were so clear, clean, and beautiful. Living in an area where it is still being developed, can be a bit tough to try to sell a house built almost 10 years ago when someone can have the option of building a brand new home in the area. Kristine told us not to worry and her confidence was so right, within one day a few offers came in and the house ended up selling to one of those offers! My mom even thought that she was going to get less for her house than the asking price but she got more. Finding a new home can be hard and tiring but Kristine made it fun. She listened to what we wanted and didn’t want so she knew exactly what kind of houses we were looking for and because of that we found a new home we love. She truly puts you first and cares about finding a home that you and your family will be happy in. I recommend her 100% and if there were more than 5 stars, I would give her all the stars!! Where to start - Laurie was absolutely amazing to work with.
Remotely I met her remotely when I started the process of looking for a house. She took the time to give me some builders to research and start the process. She communicated with me on a regular basis remotely as I was working through finding the right house. Any questions I had about the building process, builders, etc she was researching and responded to all requests in timely, professional, and detailed way.
Meeting Laurie in person, and working through the building phase and closing: It was a Saturday when I came out to Dallas in January. Laurie had recommended that I go look at specific areas and get a feel for the area I wanted to build a house. That Sunday - on her birthday - (didn’t realize that until later) she took me around to some current homes and areas. She listened and asked questions about what I liked and didn’t. Wasn’t pushing me to make choices but truly was trying to understand what I did and didn’t like about areas and homes. At the end of day one - Laurie said let me come up with a list of some builders / projects we will go look at and we will start Monday to find you a home.
Monday comes - I get an email with a list of 12 (still have the list). The list included different quality, style, lot sizes, and areas. The first spot was where I ended up landing… but in the day before I mentioned many times that lot size was a concern to me and size and style of house. Laurie truly listened to those concerns / desires and curated a masterful list. As I was looking at homes and floor plans - i had many questions. Laurie was prepared to answer all questions and again was not pushing me to make a decision or trying to guide my choice, but truly wanted me to find the right plan / builder.
Spent about another day and a half looking at houses and finally went back to the first spot she had recommended and signed the contract.
Building process: She is an advocate for her customers. Obviously with delays and material shortages there were some frustrations - but if I expressed frustrations she would jump in and track down information. As I had questions during the building process she would respond and find those answers.
I truly can’t thank Laurie enough this was a 1.5 year to build - but I couldn’t be more happy with the outcome.
Laurie is a true professional, friend, knowledgable, engaged, and advocate for her customers. I think it’s one of the few Realtors that actually cares about you finding the right home. It was an absolute pleasure working with Laurie! I would and will happily recommend her to any and everyone that is looking for a new house in this crazy market.
Laurie is a realtor who really cares for her clients. We moved to Plano from Canada and knew little about the local real estate markets. She worked patiently with us for a full year until we finally got our home here. This included numerous homes we rejected for one nuance or the other. Tenacious as she is, she did not give up on us, instead she kept digging up homes until we finally got the home we wanted. Lorena was recommended to me by a co-worker when my wife and I were relocating to Dallas from Chicago. When we had some hiccups with the builder, she got involved and got them resolved for us and on closing day when the finance company made a mistake, she got on the phone with the VP and got it rectified in 15 minutes while we were at the closing table. While it’s common for a realtor to drop off a plant, a bottle of wine or some other house warming gift after closing, Lorena actually listened to a comment we had made about how our house would have a beach theme inside and had a custom made coat rack for our wall with our family name on it that looked like it belonged on a beach.
Lorena doesn’t do what she does because it is her job, she genuinely cares about her clients and really wants to make sure they are happy with their purchase. On the day we toured, Megan guided us through the different properties, highlighting things she noticed on the listing or pointing out things we might not have noticed in front of us. It was so helpful to have someone there reminding us what we wanted. In the end we put in an offer which was accepted and then the real work began. The process of closing did not go super smoothly, but Megan was there to guide us through every step, staying in touch with the lender so she could explain everything that was happening. We really felt like she was our advocate. Especially on the day of closing, when we went to our newly purchased home to celebrate and found that water had been left sitting in our living and dining room from when the refrigerator was removed. We called Megan immediately and she worked with the selling agent to arrange repairs before we moved in. We are so thankful for everything Megan did for us and would recommend her to anyone looking for an agent!
