We can’t speak highly enough of our experience with Adam Watson. We were first-time homebuyers with very little knowledge about how to find the right place. He explained that his job is more service than sales. He proved that time and again with his thorough knowledge of home construction and the local market. Every time we viewed a new property Adam would perform a methodical inspection (he even crawled into creepy attics to check insulation for us), looking for signs of problems and commenting on the quality of construction, finish, appliances, etc.
We never felt forced to make an offer and when we finally found the "one". After looking back at the deal, the negotiations, home inspections, repair request list, helping communicate to lenders, getting us to closing on my dream home, I realized I could not have done this alone (To be honest most of these process he did everything, I was just communicating with him). Joe Spake was our realtor when we purchased our first home in December 2014. We specifically wanted a house in Midtown, and unfortunately started looking right when there were very few homes for sale in that area within our budget. On top of that, we were first-time home buyers and had a a million questions and anxieties, but Joe was always patient and made sure we understood every detail of the process! We looked at houses all over, including some in East Memphis, and Joe was always honest about the pros and cons of each house. His guidance and knowledge of the market definitely kept us from making some stupid first-time homebuyer mistakes when we had crushes on houses that were overpriced or needed more work than we could handle, and he also understood our desire to stay in Midtown and how important that was to us. My favorite part of working with Joe is that he’s super down to earth and I could be blatantly honest with him. If we looked at a house that was good in the pictures online and a creepy haunted house in real life, I could tell him I hated it in the first five seconds of stepping foot in the door and not feel bad about it. Joe was never pushy, but if we needed something or wanted to see a house he set it up immediately, and also worked around our hectic work schedules. Once we finally found the perfect home in the neighborhood that had been our #1 choice from the beginning, Joe acted quickly, negotiated a great deal, and made the transaction as easy on us as possible. We happened to be closing right during the holidays and during an out of state business trip on our side, but Joe handled it all like a pro, got all the inspections and appointments set up, and made sure we knew exactly what was going on through the whole process.
