I found a champion in my Realtor Dawn Rawlins. As a first time home buyer, I was very nervous about the process. When Dawn did her first interview with me, she asked me all about myself, my family, my goals aesthetic and what would make this a great experience. I told her all of the things I thought I knew (many of which I modified over time) and what made me feel anxious or nervous, like financial or process surprises. She reassured me that she had my back and had a session with me to explain the process and everyone’s role. We saw many properties before I made a choice and she let me go at my own pace - we did anywhere from 2 - 5 properties at a time some days and while I was mooning over a fixture, she was making sure that I was keeping in mind all of the things that mattered to me from our initial interview. In early June, after viewing 15 homes on real estate websites, we emailed seven agents. The first and only call we received that evening was from Mary Blinkhorn. She called within 10 minutes. We recently decided to sell our home in Connecticut and move to Florida with the intentions of buying a new home in the Tampa Bay area. This would be our fifth home and we felt like we were experienced buyers. We were looking for a new build when we came across Stefani at a model home where she was filling in. Immediately, she listened to our story, which was a long and odd story, but she immediately knew what we were looking for and did not try to sell us anything we did not need or were not looking for. She took us to a home that we fell in love with. This could have been the end of the story, but she advised she was a real estate agent who was filling in at the model home and that she would be very happy to help us through the process. As mentioned above this would be our fifth home, so we did not know if we needed an agent to buy a new home. As it turns out this thought process was very wrong, and we don’t know what we would have done without Stefani in this process. Even though, the house was pretty much built. There were countless things we did not think of or have never done before on a new build that she recommended and/or thought of, such as having an independent inspection of the new build. At first this took us back, why are we having a new home inspected? Well, she could not have been more right. This inspection cost $450.00 and was the best thing we could have done, money well spent. The inspector found things that would have been big problems (roof and electrical) down the road along with a full report on the home with issues that need to be addressed or just recommendation on how to make the products in the home more efficient. Please do not get us wrong, the builder did a great job, but there are a lot of things to a house that another eye on is required. Buying any home is a big process and Stefani was there for us every step of the way. She was more of a perfectionist than we were on walk throughs and would not let the little things go because she represented us and truly cared for our happiness in the home. She made sure everything was correct and if not, she made sure the contractor corrected it. Stephenie took the lead on the awkward conversation on what needed to be done, even the smallest details. She was there for us when we could not be, such as being present for the home inspection when we were out of town. Stefani provided us with an invaluable service, knowing that everything was being taken care of when we could not be present. This provided us with great peace of mind, and we truly appreciated it. If you are buying a home whether it be new construction or a resale, we would strongly recommend using Stefani.
