I recently had the pleasure of working with Christine Basso to sell my elderly Mother in law’s Bethesda home and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, Christine demonstrated the utmost professionalism, expertise, and dedication to ensuring a smooth and successful transaction. Christine took the time to thoroughly understand our needs and goals for selling the property while providing valuable insight and guidance every step of the way. She always prioritized our schedule, and worked around pockets of time when we were free – and was seemingly available 24/7 whether by phone, email or text.

This sale was not straightforward – it was an older home that needed a fair amount of work to get it listing-ready, all while we were living 5 hours away. Christine had her own crew that she brought in which included an excellent contractor, a staging company, and she even purchased new lighting fixtures for us on Amazon so that we could save money on those small touches while maximizing the sale value. She handled ALL of this plus a landscaper team for us while we were several states away.

When it came time to filter and negotiate offers, Christine proved to be a skilled negotiator, advocating on our behalf to secure the best possible outcome. We received 12 offers at or above our asking price, and were absolutely thrilled that we closed significantly above asking. Right before buyer inspections took place, a sewer pipe starting leaking. This was only found because Christine stopped by daily to check in on the property. She walked the entire house checking on every little detail. When she discovered the leak she called us immediately and had a plumber come in and remedy the issue. THEN while in contract the water heater stopped working. This of course was problematic because the buyer got nervous (what else might need repair!?) Christine worked seamlessly with the buyer’s agent and worked out a solution for a new water heater install that was fair to all parties.

In my opinion, there is no better real estate agent than Christine Basso. Her professionalism, integrity, and commitment to achieving our objectives was evident in every interaction. Her commitment to client satisfaction extends far beyond the transaction itself. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to buy or sell real estate!

I met Mrs Marilyn Monroe, I meant, Charity, about 3 years ago at a showing of a house my wife and I saw on a whim and had some interest in. But similar to Marilyn Monroe’s charm, elegance and sophistication, jovial disposition, so is she. It was a rainy Sunday open house, when I suggested to my wife, “let’s go check out that open house”, my wife ever so slyly wanting a break from mommyhood, said “oh why don’t you take our youngest daughter instead for a ride and show her the house”. Our daughter was just shy of 2 years old at the time. Needless to say my daughter and I went, and I can honestly say it changed our lives. I sometimes wonder where would we be now if I hadn’t gone to that open house? And what was so special about this open house you ask? Because much to my surprise, she was unconcerned about showing me the house than she was making sure this big guy was taking proper care of his babygirl. She got her snacks, juice, sat us down in the corner, gave my daughter things to play with, etc. I guess that’s the mom in her. She inquired about who we were, where we were from, what school my kids we attended, hobbies, friends in common, etc. We didn’t pursue that house ultimately but I came home so impressed that I told my wife, “ whenever we get ready to buy a home she absolutely has to be our agent.” And so she became. Just as an analogy, Michael Jacksons Thriller was a monster hit. He was already at the top of his game by then. But the reason it was incredibly permeable to all facets, cultures and walks of life was that the musical maestro, Quincy Jones, took the time to study him as a person, then craft the album that was an embodiment of his life aspirations, dreams, desires, highs and lows. The great ones tap into you, imbibe and inhabit you seamlessly, and curate what befits you. This, tantamount Quincy, is Marilyn’s greatest asset/gift. Most agents try to sell you a house. Marilyn allowed you to fit into the house for you, as you would a shoe. Her immense and broad knowledge of the real estate landscape is breathtaking. Her mastery of the machinations of home buying is impressive. She is extremely hardworking, and her industriousness is beyond reproach. She carefully studied our wants, desires, long term goals and sense of self comfort before she even suggested any properties to us. Her attention to your needs and detailed meticulousness to the process was quite frankly a Godsend, giving some of the drudgery that’s inevitable. She continuously fought for our interest, even at the dismay of the opposing agent. She took personal offense when she felt the opposing side was trying to take advantage of us, and she fought tooth and nail to prevent just that. I cannot begin to enumerate just how valuable and indispensable her services were to us. Through it all, it finally dawned on me that she wasn’t just trying to sell us a house, but in some ironic way, she was trying help do her part in the empowerment and uplifting of others by assisting them in actualizing part of their American dream; her way of setting the pathway for them to begin their individualized pursuit of life, liberty and happiness through this new home nucleus center. Her impeccable service to her clients undoubtedly compels you to want to extend that to others, and in doing so, indirectly creating a community of people who are very giving and empathetic towards others, who serve a higher purpose and believe in uplifting one another and society as a whole. People who know that “no man is an island”, and believe in lending an uplifting hand to others that are less fortunate, with knowledge that this is the greatest gift one can give another. You know there’s an old Nigerian proverb that “if you compliment the palm tree that produced the finest, most robust and abundant palm wine, it’ll keep yielding you more”. Well what Marilyn gave me and my family from day one is the ultimate compliment as a human being. And that is that she cared. Marysol guided my wife and I in buying our first home in the location we wanted to be in, within our price point, and turned around well researched offer (no less than eight comps going back a year!) in less than 24 hours. Her instincts on how to craft competitive offers is stellar and resulted in the seller accepting our offer on the first home we looked at. To boot, the home appraised for $10K above our offer, building instant equity.

She has a great eye for value and can see a home’s potential, even in a homes that may not show well. Likewise, she is good at pointing out pitfalls when she sees them. Another great trait is that she is careful to communicate as frequently as you want her too, while still being responsive.

We had a family emergency overseas in the process and she found a good title company that was able to get our stuff squared away without issue.

I’m always impressed by how hard Marysol works, even for smaller buyers like us. I could not have been happier with my experience with her. I’ve been working with her mother, Peggy, on renovations and have nothing but good things to say thus far. They’ve both conducted themselves to high ethical standards and I’ve experienced them to be trustworthy and reliable.

This is now the third real estate transaction that my wife and I have had with Stacey. I must say that each transaction was handled with top notch professionalism, transparency, with care, and honesty. We met Stacey almost 10 years ago as 1st time home buyers. We closed on the sale of our 1st home just about 2 weeks before we closed on our new home. She got all the documents over to our new mortgage lender to free up our VA Loan and we were able to close on time. We are now living in our new dream home. Taylor was great to work with. I had a short timeline to find a place and he found something that within that timeline that I am extremely happy with having now lived here for a little over a month. Within a few house viewings, he had a great feel for what I was looking for so no time was wasted. As a first-time home buyer, Taylor was the best Realtor I could have asked for. He was responsive, detail-oriented, and laser-focused on finding me a condo that checked every single "must have" box on my list, all while fitting within my budget (and he did just that!). He patiently answered my many—many—questions about home ownership, condo fees and bylaws, lenders, home inspections, and more, and did it in an easy-to-understand way.

Throughout the entire process, Taylor was my biggest advocate. More than once, I was prepared to settle on something and told him, "Oh, that’s fine" or "No, really, that’s not a big deal." But each time I was willing to let something go, he’d reply, "No, it’s not fine. Let’s ask for [X]" or he’d suggest, "Let’s try [Y] or [Z] instead." He always wanted to make sure I got the best possible deal, and I’m really grateful he did. He earns your trust at every step.

I’ve seen friends go through the home-buying process with agents who don’t do much beyond show up at the last minute. That’s the furthest thing from Taylor: Even from the beginning, he sent me listings, invited me to open houses, and worked hard to find me the perfect place. I’m not planning to buy or sell any time soon (can you imagine? I just closed!), but I’m certain that Taylor’s the only person I’d trust to do the job when the time comes.

Will Fastow Team supported my family and I during our recent move to Washington D.C. from Boston. He was always available to schedule appointments for us or just to answer questions. I know he does this for all of his clients, but Will made us feel like a priority. You don’t get this often.

You can tell Will cares about his clients. He was a big help with the inspection process, making sure a couple issues we found were taken care of immediately. Will followed up with us multiple times after we bought the house to check in. He’s a great guy to have in your corner.
